Vas’s entrepreneurial spirit was ignited by her family’s journey from poor Greek immigrants to entrepreneurs. She began working 80-hour weeks in JPM’s NYC Investment Banking team, but quickly realized her calling was in using finance for social impact. She moved to Nairobi, Kenya as an Investment Advisor Associate to provide capital raise support and strategy consulting to startups & SME’s, with over $80 million fundraised across tech, clean energy, and agtech. She spearheaded and organized ecosystem-building events like a first-of-its-kind conference with top PE & VC funds, and led iHub’s Accelerator for 30 pan-African startups.

Eager to roll up her sleeves and build from the inside, she transitioned to startup operations at an ed-tech startup founded by the former CTO of Ableton, Europe’s market leading music-editing software. She cemented her love for early-stage startups as she helped refine EIDU’s business model for Pan-African expansion and built out the ops, field, & tech support departments to increase app user engagement. Today EIDU has enhanced learning for 247,000 children in low-income areas across 7 African countries.

During that time, she founded a computer literacy & job placement non-profit for Kenyan orphans which raised over $80,000 before pivoting it into a for-profit social enterprise startup. Africa.ai was born in 2019 in the throes of the COVID pandemic, as a data-labeling and data processing startup supporting AI ventures in the U.S.

 As a first-time founder, she scaled the company from 9 employees to 228 employees & 700 freelancers, raised over $2M in grant & equity capital at an $8M valuation cap, and surpassed $1M in annual revenue before it was strategically acquired by Execo in 2023 to expand their global footprint.

Currently, Vas is mastering the next stage of startup growth as COO of a niche trade school in the Fire Prevention industry. In only 1 year, she increased revenues by doubling team size, launching new products, and building the sales and marketing teams from scratch—key foundations for scaling the business to $5M in revenue. 

Vas’s experience navigating high-stakes environments—from Wall Street to Nairobi’s informal settlements—makes her a dynamic & resilient mentor for first-time founders. She understands the fears of leaving job security and launching with limited resources & networks. Her Coaching empowers aspiring founders by breaking down overwhelm and building clarity. Vas’s approach combines practical advice with building confidence through market validation to bridge the gap from idea to execution—while saving time, money, and unnecessary stress.

Today, Vas lives in Austin, TX, where she’s cultivating communities to make startup mentorship more accessible to female founders. Her mission is to empower new entrepreneurs with the skills, mindset, and support systems they need to be free.
